Summary   

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager with a strong background in shared services accounting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and reporting for the IIA Chapters, including setting up these chapters in Net Suite and managing each chapter’s transactions accurately. This role requires a deep understanding of shared services accounting principles and effectively manage cash reconciliation, revenue reporting, and financial reporting for multiple entities.

This position requires an understanding of GAAP, revenue and expense recognition, and ability to function in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. This role is responsible for account reconciliations, including research and understanding of the account activity, learning, and understanding all aspects of the revenue cycle with in The IIA Chapters. This individual will participate in month end close by preparing required schedules and journal entries.  This individual will also be responsible for compiling audit documentation and researching issues as they arise.  This individual will also be responsible for report building in Net Suite and troubleshooting Net Suite issues. This team strives to cross train and support each other in meeting deadlines, hence the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively is very important. 
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assist with setting up shared services accounting process according to strict deadlines. 
  2. Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment. 
  3. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and contractual requirements related to shared services.
  4. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on financial performance.
  5. Accurately and promptly record financial transactions for multiple entities in the company's accounting system. 
  6. Reconcile accounts, such as cash, accounts receivable, accrued liabilities and deferred revenue.
  7. Ensure that revenue recognition follows appropriate accounting principles, standards, and timelines. 
  8. Address issues in Net Suite and be able to research and resolve issues satisfactorily.
  9. Proactively identify, research, and resolve complex and unusual accounting issues that may arise during financial operations. 
  10. Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures related to accounting and financial operations. 
  11. Develop and prepare schedules and work papers that external and internal auditors may request during financial audits. 
  12. Assist leadership with special projects and provide ad-hoc reports as needed. 
  13. Maintain documentation of accounts receivable and revenue processes and procedures. 
  14. Coordinate tasks and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of financial tasks. Teamwork is crucial for maintaining a smooth workflow. 

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                  

No direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Qualifications

Demonstrate strong understanding of shared services accounting principles and financial management. 

Education and/or Experience                                                

Required: Bachelor’s degree, Three-Five years accounting experience, experience in managing accounting for multiple entities, ability to maintain confidential information is essential.  Hands on experience in NetSuite. 

Preferred: Three-five years of audit experience. Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities. Experience implementing managing accounting for multiple entities.

Language Skills                                                           

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.  Multiple language ability is an asset in any role with The IIA.

Mathematical Skills                                                   

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.   Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability                                                       

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to problem solve in situations involving several variables.

Computer Skills                                            

Knowledge of accounting software and excel spreadsheets required.  Must be able to work in a computerized environment using Microsoft Office products.
