About the Position
The People and Cultural Intern will be an integral member of the People and Culture team. Through the internship, the intern will be exposed to all human resources procedures and assist with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department. In addition to recruitment, the P&C Intern will assist with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about policies.
Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, the P&C intern will work closely with the Manager of People and Culture and assist with administering benefits and handling any problems or questions. The position also has an active role in ensuring all human resource functions are complying with local, state and federal regulations.
Additionally, the P&C Intern duties may include:
Requirements
- Administrative support: Assisting with HR compliance, document retention, and tracking project progress
- HR databases: Maintaining and updating HR databases and employee records
- Job postings: Assisting with posting job openings and reviewing resumes
- Interviews: Scheduling interviews and confirming applicant availability
- Employee inquiries: Assisting with handling employee inquiries and requests
- Job Descriptions: Drafting job descriptions
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Facilitating the onboarding process for new hires
- Employee Engagement: Participate in organizing company events
- Communications: Design and disseminate quarterly newsletter
- Special projects: Assisting with special projects
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or similar field or currently enrolled in a master’s level program
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and innovative technologies in Human resources. This includes monitoring regulatory changes of federal, state, and local employee laws
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, and resume databases
- Good understanding of full cycle recruiting
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Strong sense of initiative and ability to prioritize work assignments and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to deal effectively with the diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
- Good judgment with confidentiality and the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Assisting with the development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
The Foundation currently works a hybrid schedule that requires employees to be in our NYC office 2 days per week.
For Internships, schedules are flexible to accommodate individuals' school and credit requirements.

Salary : $17 - $22
