This Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining various general ledger accounts in accordance with (GAAP), and working closely with other members of the team in a collaborative environment. Primary Responsibilities as the Senior Staff Accountant:
- Manage the monthly close process; completing all close activities accurately and within timelines set forth by the company
- Mentor and review work of Accounts Payable staff
- Perform reconciliations; research and resolve any variances in a defined timely manner
- Analyze variances to forecast and prior periods
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the company
Qualifications needed for Senior Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a 4 year university or college
- 3 years of experience in accounting
- Strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage time effectively; ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work well with a team
- Able to work in a very fast paced environment; ability to pivot and refocus when needed
- Advanced in MS Excel; strong computer skills in general
- Able to work within the demands of the office and work when required
