Our client, a prominent organization that is dedicated to enhancing community well-being and advocating for human rights, is look to add a Finance Assistant to their team. The organization is seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Assistant to support the Finance Department. In this role, the Finance Assistant will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring seamless transaction processing and supporting the organization's budgetary goals. The ideal candidate will embody core values of Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence and Accountability.
Finance Assistant Responsibilities :
Accurately review and count incoming checks before processing
Execute daily bank deposits using a remote scanner and document revenue types
Liaise with donors and banking institutions regarding stock transfers
Prepare and distribute daily cash reports for board members and management
Support the team in managing large batches of checks and record necessary journal entries for adjustments
Reconcile revenue data between Raiser's Edge and NetSuite with bank statements
Oversee monthly rent collections, following up with tenants on outstanding payments
Process and record income related to events, meetings, and mission trips
Reconcile outgoing wire transfers and other income entries in NetSuite
Manage the petty cash reimbursement process and generate invoices for internal services
Open and distribute incoming mail to the relevant departments
Finance Assistant Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles
Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Well-organized with effective time management skills
Dependable, with a strong commitment to confidentiality
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks
A customer service-oriented mindset
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Oracle NetSuite and CRM software, ideally Raiser's Edge
