**Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist Role**
We are seeking a passionate and experienced nurse to join our team as a Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist. This individual will act as the educator for our facility, designing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preventing and controlling infections by analyzing surveillance reports and developing strategies to mitigate infection risk among residents and staff.

Responsibilities:
- Designs, plans, and provides educational programs on all shifts and for all departments.
- Participates in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employee performance.
- Provides general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education.
- Plans and provides a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs.
- Ensures Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement.
- Actively participates in quality assurance and reports concerns to supervisor.
- Monitors healthcare-associated infections.
- Assesses infection prevention problems and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Initiates, reviews, and revises infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Conducts outbreak investigation and initiates control measures. And reports communicable diseases to the state as required by law.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
- CPR certification
