This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various administrative and legal tasks, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service.
Duties
As a Legal Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the drafting of legal documents, including estate planning documents, pleadings, motions, contracts, and client correspondence
- Managing case files and maintaining organized documentation for easy retrieval.
- Performing data entry tasks to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- setting up new client files and assisting with preparation of engagement letters for new clients.
- Coordinating schedules for meetings, and appointments with clients.
- Assisting attorneys in client meeting preparation by pulling together info needed for a client meeting.
- Providing administrative support such as managing correspondence and filing documents with the court.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with estate planning, and probate and guardianship law is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in legal research techniques and tools.
- Experience with legal drafting and document preparation is required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
