REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in an office setting, preferably health-related.
Skills:
1. Strong interpersonal, phone etiquette, and customer service skills.
2. Word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet skills.
3. Knowledge of basic office skills and office equipment.
4. Professional appearance and conduct, including reliability and courtesy.
5. Able to maintain and protect client and agency confidentiality at all times.
6. Able to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced work environment.
7. High degree of personal integrity.
8. Attention to detail, accuracy, punctuality.
9. Ability to communicate instructions clearly.
10. Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferred.
11. Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements: Able to sit for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds.
OSHA-related: Possibility of exposure to bodily fluids.
Other Requirements: Must be accessible by phone in case of a client or agency emergency after
hours.
Must pass criminal background check.
Certifications: Federal Drug Testing Certification may be required

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as receptionist, administrative assistant and switchboard attendant for assigned department during regular The Life Link/La Luz business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, excluding lunch hour and breaks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Answers all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously, and directs calls to the appropriate extension or takes messages.
2. Greets all clients and visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs them to and notifies the proper person and/or office.
3. Receives, sorts, and posts all incoming mail from U.S. Post Office, package and courier services.
4. Performs a variety of clerical duties including typing memos, correspondence, reports, signs, and other documents. Data entry and filing. Makes copies and faxes documents as requested.
5. Schedules individual and group treatment appointments for clients.
6. Opens and closes assigned reception area (locking doors, closing blinds, turning off lights).
7. Schedules drug performance testing days, initiates the calling system for clients who are to be tested and reports non-compliance to the appropriate legal agency.
8. Accepts and records client co-payments.
9. Attends annual staff training and other trainings as required.
10. Attends administrative staff meetings.
11. Arranges for reception area coverage during break and lunch times.
12. Administers and physically observes required client drug and alcohol testing.
13. Completes testing documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
14. Abides by The Life Link policies and procedures, including corporate compliance.
15. Demonstrates integrity and maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. Abides by the ethical standards adopted by the agency.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrative staff.
