What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Engagement Specialist position at The Los Angeles Country Club?
Position Responsibilities
- Lead engagement projects across the Club and ensure that employee engagement initiatives have visibility and purpose. Create experiences and programs to ensure all employees feel valued and supported at every phase of their employment with the Club
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and develop and implement innovative communication and engagement strategies
- Serve as liaison with managers and new employees from the initial point of contact
- Coordinate with managers to ensure new employees have the training and feedback mechanisms in place to learn and create memorable experiences in their role at the Club
- Manage pre-employment process including posting job requisitions, sending conditional offer letters, ensuring candidate completes all required steps, coordinating candidates first day and communicating to appropriate parties
- Manage employee section of Club app including employee directory, employee announcements, event registration, etc.
- Manage and execute the onboarding process to ensure all new employees have consistent experiences and learn the same information
- Manage new employee orientation and lunch and learn programs that excite new employees, set them up for success, and support their growth at the Club. Review and revise programs based on the strategy of the Club such as rebranding, offering social events, and creating a virtual version.
- Work alongside HR Generalist to administer the new employee documentation process and assist as needed
- Partner with and support the HR department and Executive Management team to drive overall company programs and events i.e. social outings away from the Club, golf activities, and routine celebrations
- Represent HR and the Club in a positive, enthusiastic, and cheerful manner, treating everyone with respect and every task with thoughtful consideration
- Maintain the Clubs annual internal staff communications including TV announcements, email notifications, Club app
- Lead, plan, budget, schedule, and execute (alongside F&B team) Club programs, employee meetings, and events coordinating invitation lists, sending and responding to invites, promoting events, providing event supervision and support and conducting post-event follow up
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure Club brand and organizational culture is fully communicated and educated through Club communication vehicles (Pacesetter, Paycom, Email, Bulletin Boards, video recordings, etc.)
- Identify, plan, and implement employee recognition and work anniversary programs
- Translate all Club employee communications in Spanish
- Manage the Clubs presence and content on Social Media (Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) together with the Marketing Department
- Develop and maintain a process to ensure simple day to day acknowledgement is provided by managers
- Work with managers to build relationships with local schools, including intern programs, career fairs, and an employee ambassador program for recruitment
- Build pipelines of prospective candidates using various outreach and networking methods using online platforms
- Develop, coordinate and execute ongoing Manager Training focused on management skills, training skills, high performance hiring, positive communication, creating a strong workplace culture, time management, team building, and understanding the nuances of working with different personality types and age groups
- Develop training and testing to increase employee and manager expertise of the Employee Handbook, specifically standards of conduct, disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution and termination procedures
- Partner with Operating Departments to ensure ongoing improvements to the Employee Caf and Breakroom, and other Employee experience areas
- Assist in updating job descriptions and ensuring consistency and Club branding for all positions
- Work with Managers to create an AMID (Assistant Manager in Development) program for all departments as standard development to support the values, vision, and mission of LACC
- Work with Security Management to create training related to Workers Compensation and Safety
- Monitoring and reporting of data related to effectiveness of employee programs
- HR Specialist and point person for all staff-related questions associated with Staff Scholarship Program
- Coordinate new employee tenant arrival and departure, prepare housing agreements, and ensure team is prepared to welcome new employee
- Attend Human Resources related trainings
- Take on additional administrative responsibilities and other projects as needed
About You
- You are willing and excited to talk to others and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You have a passion for people and employee experiences
- You are detailed-oriented and have experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Software
- You are a planner and have experience in calendar management in Outlook
- You speak, read and write proficiently in Spanish
- You have a willingness and ability to represent HR and the Club in a positive, enthusiastic, and cheerful manner, treating everyone with respect and every task with thoughtful consideration
What we are looking for
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience; internship experience may be considered
- 2 5 years experience developing and implementing communications, branding, events, training, employee engagement and other relevant HR programs
