TITLE: ASSISTANT OPERATOR DEPARTMENT: PURIFICATION

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Chief of Operations

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, the Assistant Operator - Purification performs custodial work and assists or fills in for the Operator - Purification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma and mathematical aptitude. Would like some college.
• Class I Water License or Operator in Training

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

1. Janitorial duties
2. Collects samples for testing instructions
3. Analyzes samples to determine levels of alkaline, chlorine and other chemicals
4. Monitors chemical feeders situations
5. Adjusts chemicals to assure proper distribution in system
6. Records hourly filter readings
7. Records weather
8. Maintains daily log
9. Monitors and maintains plant equipment

10. Washes filters and other machines and equipment
11. Changes chlorine tanks
12. Loads chemical tanks
13. Loads and unload delivery trucks
14. Answers telephones, directs calls and takes messages
15. Maintains and increases knowledge and skills
16. Performs additional duties and assignments, as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

c. Techniques used in water sampling,

a. Follow oral and written

e. Perform routine maintenance on equipment

f. Calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages

g. Work flexible hours

h. Read analog and digital figures

i. Climb stairs, ship ladders and straight-up ladders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.27 - $26.10 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

• Manufacturing: 2 years (Required)
