Staff Accountant
Summary : Performs activities involved with maintaining, reconciling, analyzing accounts and subsidiary records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Utilizes general ledger application and understands interrelationship of other applications.
- Reconciles operating bank accounts and credit card statements monthly.
- Calculates and compiles biweekly payroll information (i.e. tips, commissions, etc.) for processing by Payroll.
- Assist with preparation, formatting and distribution of monthly financial reports.
- Supports with month-end and year-end processes and procedures.
- Prepares intercompany billing for related corporate entities.
- Cross-trains with accounts payable and accounts receivable staff to ensure business continuity during absences or provide support as needed.
- Coordinates departmental month-end retail physical inventory observation (Food & Beverage, Golf, and Spa), analyzes gross margin variances, identifies slow-moving inventory, and records inventory adjustments.
- Maintains schedule of fixed asset additions.
- Contributes in preparation of weekly cash forecast.
- Reviews event billing entries in catering software to verify accurate GL postings and supports with preparation of event P&L’s.
- Assists with compilation of data for the annual budget.
- Performs special projects, as necessary.
- Assists with preparation of material for audits.
- Adheres to Club policies and procedures.

Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (Accounting degree preferred); or two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual shall have advanced knowledge of Inventory Control Systems, Accounting software; Database software; JONAS, POS system; Microsoft Office including Excel.
