Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.
- Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
- Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice; implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required.
- Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services.
- Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary.
- Completes assignments in a timely and accurate manner
- Is willing to take on additional responsibility in a positive manner.
- Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Associate’s degree in computer science is required,
- bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Computer hardware, software and peripherals such as central processing units, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, printers, plotters and modems
- Knowledge regarding techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Remote Support, etc. networks and telecommunications and the equipment and software required to maximize system support
- Knowledge of procedures for installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing operating systems, applicable software, hardware and peripherals using administrative application practices.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, hardware and software related to the establishment and maintenance of LAN’s and WAN’s
- Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, assembling and repairing computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers and related hardware
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and solving hardware and software problems.
- Experience instructing users on new or upgraded computer applications and hardware.
- Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines and procedures.
- Experience organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical time deadlines
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four-year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
- Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.
- Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.
- Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
