This is NOT REMOTE. It's in-person in the DC Metro office (NoVA)
Position Overview :
This company is looking to add a proven business development professional with a track record of selling to the DoD. This role has 3 main parts :
Planning and executing business development with everything autonomous for our Defense customers.
Assisting with Defense business strategy planning and operations.
Understanding customer requirements and translating to Product Management teams.
Responsibilities :
Establish relationships with partner Defense prime contractors, Defense Program Executive Offices and other relevant DOD organizations. Maintain a high level of customer intimacy within these communities
Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline in CRM
Capture new business in alignment with this company's technical expertise and Defense strategic roadmap
This includes : tracking and planning Defense-related relationships, managing customer relationships, visiting key existing and potential customers on a regular basis, and understanding customer technical and functional requirements
Assist with development of a detailed annual Defense business development plan
This includes : maintaining awareness of and recommending to leadership any Defense business opportunities relative to this company's current and future products, providing customer requirements input to the Defense business strategy, and identifying potential new and future products
Coordinate, lead, and / or support proposal activities
Requirements :
2 years experience in the Department of Defense ecosystem - Industry, Service, Joint, or Office of the Secretary of Defense - doing business development, or a related role
Experience with software or tech industries is ideal, in either sales or consultingcapacity
Bachelors and / or Masters in a technical field
Ability to execute thoughtfully and efficiently, with a "no task is too big or too small" mindset to get the job done
Willingness to wear many hats and execute with a "can-do" attitude
Passion for building a deep understanding of autonomous systems applications to National Security and Defense
