What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Scheduler position at The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated?
Moorings Park is looking for an Office Scheduler in our Private Duty Home Health Office.The Office Scheduler is responsible for performing scheduling of staff members and ensuring appropriate staff members are assigned to provide personal care, home management and supportive services, utilizing staff according to raining, ability, and limitations. The Scheduler is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and reception duties, following the established policies and procedures and/ or specific instruction.
Contributions:
- Schedules appropriate staff, maintaining consistency of caregivers and managing overtime.
- Ensures daily phone calls to caregivers confirming scheduled shifts.
- Maintains client’s database with appropriate demographics and hours of services.
- Maintains consistency of 24-hour cases and reports to Office Coordinator weekly.
- Answers telephone, taking messages and forwarding messages and calls to appropriate parties.
- Prepares on-call Information for on-call Coordinators, updating as needed.
- Assists with clerical duties such as processing payroll, insurance verification, patient information documentation, and ordering office supplies.
- Maintains client confidentiality and works in compliance with HIPAA regulations and standards.
- Assures that office is maintained in a safe and neat manner.
- Assumes responsibility for on-call in absence of on-call Coordinator.
- Works in unison with others professionally and respectfully carrying out the Moorings Park Mission and Moorings Park Standards of Behavior Statements.
- Demonstrates the desire to increase client and partner satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous experience with scheduling in health care is essential.
- Ability to type 50 WPM, 10 key calculator, basic math and data entry skills and computer experience essential.
