The Team
The PE Team teaches the foundations of behavioral health and wellness. They design experiences that promote skill development, incorporate movement and foster sportsmanship.The PE Coaches collaborate with the Connections Team (Maker, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science, Spanish, Visual Arts), Grade Level Teachers, and our Learning Coaches to ensure that student are at the center of our design.
The Role
Recognizing the importance of mental and physical health for each student, we are seeking an innovative and collaborative Lower School Physical Education Teacher and Coach for the 2025-26 school year. This position has the opportunity to integrate health and wellness principles while teaching physical skills, games, and instilling a life-long pursuit of physical well being for students in Grades K-5. Versatility, collaboration, and openness to innovative instructional practices are essential. AvailabilityAvailability to coach Middle and High School sports is important.
Responsibilities
- Provide differentiated, developmentally appropriate instruction in physical education using a variety of teaching methods
- Design meaningful units for students to develop literacies, skills, and attributes connected to physical health and wellness
- Assess and report on student skill development
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to integrate physical education into the classroom
- Possess strong character with an absolute drive for excellence, a team-oriented spirit, and a commitment to meeting the learning and social-emotional needs of students
- Participate in weekly professional development with both Lower School and the Athletics Department
- Coach at least 2 sports/seasons each year in coordination with the Athletics Department

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field
- Teaching/coaching experience
- Knowledge and experience with child development
