Job Summary
The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
General Requirements
- Provide excellent service to Sparrow guests, including cocktails, food, and bottle service. Personifies the brand pillars: stylish, playful, chic – and a little edgy.
- Consistently adheres to all company service and operating standards
- Handles customer complaints, and, if necessary, solicits involvement and support from supervisor
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Company events and promotions and be able to answer customers’ questions accordingly
- Follows established company and departmental appearance standards, including uniform, hygiene, and general appearance guidelines, at all times
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system before taking item to the table. Make specific recommendations that guests will enjoy
- Must be able to open wine bottles with ease and confidence while, at the same time, communicating with your guests at the table
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter
- Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, and process through the POS system
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow cocktail servers before they ask
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Over 1 year of related experience in a chic upscale lounge
- An understanding of liquor tiers, top shelf liquors, and bottle service is required
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
- Excellent communication and hosting skills
- Excellent teamwork required
- Willingness to work evenings/nights/weekends
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment. While performing job duties, the associate speaks, listens, completes documents, processes requests and operates office equipment such as a telephone, calculator, computer, copier and fax. Physical requirements include extended periods of standing and/or walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The job requires close vision with or without corrective lenses
