  • $70,000
  • 37.5-hour work week
  • M – F, 10 am – 6 pm (flexibility required to meet emergent client needs and crisis situations)

Position: Home Based Crisis Intervention Program Supervisor

Job Description: TheHBCI Program Supervisor reports to the Director of Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services. The Supervisor directs and supervises staff activities, leads team organizational and clinical meetings, provides clinical direction to staff regarding individual cases, conducts side-by-side contacts with staff and regularly conducts individual supervision meetings. The Supervisor may provide case coverage for short periods due to staffing needs. The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing the essential guidance and leadership necessary in assisting staff in meeting the needs of the clients served. He/she is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the work functions of staff and for the planning and review of service goals in order to meet desired outcomes of the HBCI Program.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducts outreach calls, complete eligibility screening for referred clients and complete intake/enrollment.
  • Provides direct, individualized supervision to team of Interventionists.
  • Conducts crisis/risk assessments and works with family to identify resources/supports and develop a safety plan
  • Provides direct therapeutic services to clients and their families in their homes, the community, or a setting of their choosing to assist assigned interventionist.
  • Provides crisis intervention and stabilization with the child/youth and family, and case management services such as referrals to other services and ensuring the structural home environment is safe.
  • Conducts strength based assessments to identify client/family needs.
  • Provides follow-up before, during and after services in order to be responsive to the needs of client/families as they surface and to help determine satisfaction with services and obtain recommendations for service enhancement.
  • Functions as an interdisciplinary team member facilitate discussion of client’s needs and goals for services.
  • Maintains contact and consults with community agencies as the clients’ mental health advocate.
  • Assists in linking clients to outside agencies and community resources as indicated and appropriate.
  • Maintains timely, complete and accurate documentation.
  • Attends and participates in staff/agency meetings and community meetings as assigned.
  • Accepts emergency cases and/or the assignment of other clients by supervisory staff.
  • Monitors productivity of interventionists and ensures quality of service provisions offered.
  • Works with client/family to devise a safe discharge plan upon termination of services.
  • Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to Office of Mental Health guidelines, Neighborhood Center policies and procedures and in keeping with the Agency’s mission statement as well as the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Agency Administration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of mental health issues affecting children, adolescents and their families.
  • Experience in providing individual, family and group therapies to children with severe emotional disorders.
  • Ability to maintain expectations for timeliness and accuracy in the performance of job functions
  • Ability to function as an interdisciplinary team member.
  • Licensed mental health professional (LMHP) professional: LMHP’s are expected to be licensed by the New York State Education Department and operate within the practitioner’s scope of practice as defined in NYS law. These include, but are not limited to: Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical/Masters Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.
  • A valid New York State Driver’s License and Transportation
