What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campground Maintenance Manager position at The Oaks Camp & Retreat Center?
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Maintenance Manager is under the supervision of the Oaks Camp Director and is responsible for the maintenance of the campground ensuring it is functional, clean and attractive for camp groups throughout the year.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in maintenance or similar tradesman experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC and grounds-keeping.
2. Must possess excellent written, computer and verbal communication skills.
3. Must be able to work as and when required, dictated by the needs of the bookings.
4. Must be able to enter non-handicap accessible buildings.
5. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel or crouch. Must also be able to lift more than 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
6. Able to be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
7. Must be able to subscribe to the agency's Mission Statement and Beliefs.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Execute the maintenance and refurbishing plan each year to ensure buildings and grounds do not deteriorate. This would include winterizing cabins, completing repairs, maintaining utilities, winterizing the pool, etc.
2. Execute pool maintenance and repair as outlined by pool professional services and ensure pool is in working conditions for booked groups.
3. Execute and maintain facility maintenance including landscaping/mowing, storage, building and roads and facility improvements to include a comprehensive plan for short and long-term goals with cost estimates for budget purposes (all require COO approval).
4. Develop an inventory and standardization plan for supplies and maintenance of facilities and review regularly for effectiveness.
5. Perform special projects and documentation as instructed by the Camp Director.
6. Participate in the Process Improvement activities of the agency.
7. Ability to maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with guests, and address customer complaints with a positive resolution.
8. Develop strict housekeeping procedures and checklists to ensure facilities are properly cleaned and maintained for guests before and after bookings.
9. Ability to assign duties and supervise support staff.
10. Develop an inventory and standardization plan for supplies and equipment.
11. Perform other job responsibilities as dictated by your supervisor.
