Community Outreach Program Manager

The Program Manager serves as the administrative liaison for the Center for Autism Services and Transition (CAST) in the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the ongoing clinical, educational, research, and community outreach activities of the various initiatives related to the CAST program. This role assumes responsibility for a variety of projects and must work effectively with other departments including clinical service providers, quality & patient safety, managed care, human resources, information systems and financial services. The manager participates in the overall planning, coordinating and implementing of clinical, educational, development and general program activities which include coordinating program events and working in conjunction with university partners to manage donor and community relations and support the strategic planning processes. At the direction of the Medical and Administrative Leadership, manages and coordinates the operations of the CAST program across the System which includes the development of policies, procedures, data tracking and reporting of outcomes for the program as well as collaborates efforts with the various sites of care, and across the departments and hospital stakeholders.
Additional Information
The Center for Autism Services and Transition (CAST) program is a primary care based program at the OSU Wexner medical center focused on improving healthcare access and quality for autistic adults. CAST is currently functioning in four OSU ambulatory locations. The CAST team currently includes primary care physicians, a psychiatrist, a social worker, a psychotherapist, and a nurse care coordinator. To date, efforts at CAST have been shown to improve patient satisfaction, decrease ER visits and hospitalizations, and improve quality of care.
