Shift Details: Full-Time M-F / 11:30am - 8:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and welcoming environment for patients and visitors while managing administrative tasks.
- Greet patients and visitors, verify their appointments, and assist with the registration process.
- Updating patient information, insurance details, and obtaining necessary consent forms.
- Answer phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments for various imaging services (MRI and X-ray scans).
- Confirm patients' insurance coverage and gather relevant details to ensure accurate billing and claims processing.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of imaging procedures to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Ensure patients are comfortable during their visit, addressing any anxieties or apprehensions they may have about the imaging process.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and other payments from patients. Maintain accurate records of transactions and handle any billing inquiries.
- Organize and update patient records, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and filed appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with the imaging technicians and radiologists, ensuring they are aware of the patients' needs and that the schedule runs smoothly.
- Keep the reception area and waiting room tidy and well-organized, providing a comfortable environment for patients and visitors.
- Adhere to healthcare regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA), ensuring all patient information is handled confidentially and securely.
- Address general inquiries from patients, visitors, and other medical personnel, either in person or over the phone.
- Handle any patient concerns or complaints professionally and courteously, escalating issues to the appropriate parties when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments within the imaging center to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Assist with various administrative tasks, such as data entry, supply management, and other duties assigned by the center's management.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you'll be assisting patients, team members, and visitors regularly.
- Strong organizational skills to manage appointments, records, and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to medical imaging is a plus.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for scheduling, data entry, and record-keeping.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to remain professional and courteous while addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, internal staff, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment and when handling patient inquiries or concerns.
- Having bilingual skills, specifically English and Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move within the office environment to access files, office equipment, and workstations.
- Normal or corrected-to-normal vision to read and analyze documents, appointment schedules, and electronic health records.
- Sufficient hearing ability to engage in verbal communication during phone conversations and in-person interactions.
- Adequate manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and scheduling software.
- Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative tasks, data entry, and communication.
