Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our team. As a Front Desk Associate, you will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, managing reservations, and ensuring that all guest needs are met during their stay. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be passionate about creating a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Process guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications both in person and over the phone.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and online inquiries, providing information about hotel amenities, room availability, and local attractions.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Process payments, including credit card and cash transactions, and provide accurate change or receipts.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, including ensuring that brochures, guest information, and other materials are stocked and up to date.
- Assist with guest requests for services, such as room service, transportation, and wake-up calls.
- Manage and update room availability and reservations through the hotel’s property management system.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure that guest needs are met and issues are resolved.
- Provide guests with information about the hotel’s services and local attractions, offering recommendations when appropriate.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Handle lost and found items and ensure they are properly recorded and returned to guests.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, reporting, and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is a plus.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using computers and hotel management software.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and transactions.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry light items, such as guest luggage or office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
- Ability to handle multiple phone lines and interact with guests simultaneously.
