About Us: The Providence Group is a boutique real estate development company with vertical integrations in property management, architecture, and construction. We are expanding our accounting department and seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to support our growing portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong property accounting experience, with knowledge of construction accounting as a plus. The position will report directly to our Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records across multiple entities.
- Process accounts payable, issue payments, and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Record and reconcile bank transactions, credit card expenses, and intercompany transfers.
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal financial controls.
- Property & Construction Accounting
- Handle property accounting using Buildium for rental properties.
- Manage QuickBooks Online for the property management company.
- Assist with construction project accounting in Foundation software.
- Track job costs and assist in project financial reporting.
- Administrative Support (10% of time)
- Greet visitors and assist with front desk operations.
- Order and manage office supplies.
- Coordinate office vendor relationships and service providers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years of proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role in accounting, with a strong understanding of property accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Buildium, QuickBooks Online, and Foundation (or similar accounting softwares).
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in handling journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accrual-based accounting.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to both efficiently and accurately record transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
