What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Captain position at The Quechee Club?
The Quechee Club, one of Vermont's Premier Country Clubs is looking for a Event Captain to add to our growing events team!
Working with the Event Coordinator this position oversees the operational aspects and successful execution of the Banquet Event Order (BEO) for private and special member events to include room set-up and breakdown and assisting with food/beverage service.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors event orders and ensures all meeting and function equipment is available and in proper working conditions for events.
- Facilitates set-up of AV equipment for events and functions as needed.
- Coordinates and executes the setup, maintenance, stocking of side stations and breakdown for all functions and events with assistance from Event staff. Including supervising Event staff with respect to establish service procedures and efficiency of service.
- Ensure that all established standards of service, personal hygiene and courtesy are adhered to.
- Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all members and guests for all assigned functions and services areas.
- Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, the matter refers to the Event Coordinator or Food and Beverage Director. Notifies supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items or alleged thefts.
- Ensures coordination, maintenance and inventory of assigned Event areas.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory and ordering linen in accordance to the event order.
- Ensure delivery of BEO details to client satisfaction. Inspects area, ensures accuracy for the layout of function room for all events, and requested details in a timely manner before a scheduled function. Communicates event order problems to all parties effectively.
- Actively participates in weekly BEO meetings.
- Effectively communicates with all departments as appropriate, regarding function space needs, facility maintenance, menus, themed events, staffing requirements and any relevant requests.
- Responsible for participating in Food and Beverage meetings.
- Complies with all QLLA policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and always maintains a professional demeanor while representing the club.
- Provides assistance to any member of the Food and Beverage Team when needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director and Event Coordinator.
This position has a base hourly rate and will also receive a portion of event service charges.
