The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join our People Operations team. Reporting to the People Operations Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting the daily operations of payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and offboarding—with room to grow and take on additional HR initiatives over time.

You’ll be a hands-on contributor who ensures accuracy, compliance, and a high-quality employee experience across all touchpoints. This position requires a strong foundation in payroll and benefits, and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when supporting employees and managers. You’ll also help identify process improvements, support system enhancements, and build scalable, people-first practices as we continue to evolve and grow.


What You’ll Do

Payroll & HRIS

  • Oversee and execute accurate, timely payroll for multi-state employees, including off-cycle payments and adjustments
  • Maintain and audit employee data in ADP Workforce Now; proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues
  • Ensure payroll practices align with compliance and internal policy; recommend process improvements
  • Support configuration, testing, and upgrades in payroll/HR systems


Benefits Administration

  • Administer day-to-day operations across medical, dental, vision, FSA, and 401(k) plans
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions on benefits, eligibility, and claims
  • Collaborate with brokers and vendors to resolve issues and support annual enrollment
  • Maintain accurate benefit records and assist with invoice reconciliation


Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate pre-hire documentation, background checks, and system setup
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences, including orientation support
  • Manage offboarding processes, including final pay, system deactivation, and COBRA notices
  • Contribute ideas to enhance onboarding and offboarding workflows


General HR Support

  • Respond to employee questions on pay, benefits, and policy with professionalism and care
  • Maintain employee records and support compliance audits
  • Create and refine internal SOPs, templates, and HR documentation
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives


About You

  • 5 years of multi-state payroll experience, including compliance and system management
  • 3 years of benefits administration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Solid knowledge of payroll regulations, employment laws, and HR best practices
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and pivot between tasks with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now


Bonus Points

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CPP or PHR
  • Experience with UKG Ready, Rippling, or Paycom
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or start-up environment
  • Passion for continuous improvement and system optimization

Compensation

$68,000 – $75,000 / year, depending on experience and qualifications
