Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
Description: The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for pre-admission processes, admissions coordination for TRC’s programs, and keeping clients engaged in peer services while in treatment. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist manages and responds to incoming referrals / inquiries, and maintains track of all prospective clients. They manage the registration process of clients as they enter TRC’s programs and services. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist delivers both group and individual peer support services for clients and alumni. This team member is supervised by both the Clinical Director and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) as it is a dual role.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs data entry of admissions and prospective clients as indicated in the electronic health record; communicates information to appropriate team members.
- Conducts admissions into TRC’s outpatient programs / services by reviewing and completing all legal intake documents with client; coordinates admissions into TRC’s residential programs and orders welcome boxes for new residential clients;
- Participates in regular data collection delegated by the quality assurance team for performance improvement reporting.
- Contacts healthcare providers to request additional information such as medical records, notices, etc. as needed.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with referring providers and organizations; conducts outreach to expand organization’s network for collaborative care and referrals;
- Delivers peer individual and groups sessions and document in the electronic health record as required;
- Build Recovery Resiliency and Wellness Plans with clients within 30 days of admission to TRC and document in the electronic health record as required;
- Provide transportation to and from clients medical and legal appointments;
- Provide peer support services to residents through the Measure-Plan-Engage (MPE) model utilizing the ARMS REC-CAP navigation toolkit
- Oversight and maintenance of organization’s use of the ARMS REC-CAP system
- Guide residents in the identification and execution of recovery goals
- Any other delegated task determined by supervisors relevant to the role.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma
- Experience and knowledge in working in the field of substance use and/or behavioral health
- A minimum of two (2) years of continuous verifiable sobriety is required.
- Must consent to criminal background check, including fingerprint check.
- Must complete TB screening
- Upon hire, must complete all required trainings and orientation in a timely manner prior to beginning direct work with clients.
- Acceptance of various pathways to recovery
- Belief and adoption of TRC’s philosophy, core values, and core goals.

- Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver work at a fast pace, maintaining strong attention to detail and organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
