Lake Orion Gathering Director (Worship Leader)
Classification: Full-Time, Salary
The primary function of the Gathering Director is to lead, manage, and coordinate the music ministry and worship of the Church. He/She will function on a full-time basis as a member of the professional ministry staff, and be an active part of The River Church. He/She will work with the Gathering Pastor and team to set the spirit and order of all the worship gatherings. The gathering director is responsible for training and shepherding bands and overseeing the planning and implementation of each gathering structure, including musical selection, arrangements, and production ministries.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Weekend Gathering Worship & Production
- Worship: Lead Worship, Oversee, Schedule and Lead the volunteer worship team for 10:30 am gathering. 8:45 am Rehearsal on Sunday.
- Production: Audio, multimedia, video team and gathering recording oversight and scheduling
Responsibility Details:
- Engaging, clear communication and spiritual leadership from the stage
- Oversee all musical direction, band and vocal leaders
- Expand the leadership base of the location by identifying, mentoring and mobilizing future leaders
- Schedule worship and production volunteers
- Create master song list for location via Planning Center 3 times per year
- Conduct tryouts and on-boarding of new volunteers
- Treat every practice as important
- Come early, leave late
- Always be a month ahead of schedule on Planning Center
- Oversee/develop chord charts and practice tracks as needed for the band
- Lead your team in a devotion each week
- Develop communication and meeting structure to effectively communicate the gathering needs to your team
- Set up and implement practice times and effectively communicate to the worship band and production team
- Oversee/Create and maintain ProPresenter songs
- Oversee/Create and maintain lighting scenes
- Maintain stage cleanliness and layout
- Works directly with the Gathering Pastor and Locations Gathering Director to assess all gatherings and events for the negatives, positives and direction
- Record, Render and Upload Sermon every Sunday
- Assist with stage design with Locations Gathering Director
- Assist with training as needed with Locations Gathering Director
Secondary Responsibilities (As Needed and Time Allows):
- Assist with Worship and Production at Summer Camp, Winter Camp and Retreats
- Assist with Funerals and Weddings
- Assist with Worship and Production for Ministry Events
- Assist with projects at other locations as needs arise
Schedule
- Attend Weekly All Staff Meeting
- Attend Weekly Gathering Team Meeting
- 1:1 Meeting with Locations Gathering Director (as scheduled)
- Sundays required
- Christmas Eve Easter Sunday Required
- Yearly Staff Retreat (usually end of May)
Competencies
- Planning Center Online
- Multitracks Playback and Knowledge of Click Tracks, Mulitracks, etc.
- Basics of Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Familiarity with live video streaming technologies (Resi, Blackmagic)
- Lighting Protocols (DMX)
- Overall Music Knowledge
- ProPresenter
- Self-starter, Organization, Attention to Detail
- Give and Receive Critique
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Willingness to get on aerial work lifts and ladders
