Position Summary:
Under the supervision of Compliance Manager, supervise and coordinate all activities as a unit of the Gaming Commission in a regulatory function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision to assigned compliance department team members, including but not limited to, training, coaching, coordinating work assignments, evaluating, disciplining and managing complaints.
- Assist in the hiring process of departmental staff.
- Implement regulatory sections of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Gaming Code.
- Observe and analyze gaming procedures for compliance with the Tribal Gaming Code, Compact, Indian Regulatory Action, SCIT MIC`s, tribal law and other applicable state and federal regulations.
- Evaluate the adequacy of regulatory controls of SCIT and issue recommendations to strengthen weaknesses.
- Ensure that all tribally licensed organizations are in compliance with the Tribal Gaming Code, and ensure full and proper enforcement of tribal, civil, and criminal gaming laws.
- Regulate daily gaming activities within the jurisdiction of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. Maintain a record of new developments in gaming and make recommendations to ensure compliance of developments.
- Ensure adherence to SCIT MIC standards, report violations, and make recommendations to improve compliance.
- Develop a cooperative working relationship with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials to ensure integrity of the gaming operations.
- Conduct all aspects of investigations and inspections. Retrieve and prepare appropriate documentation and provide expert testimony as required. Coordinate additional training for Compliance Officers as new procedures or gaming endeavors are implemented.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of gaming experience and regulatory experience.
- Experience with SCIT Minimum Internal controls, SECR and SCIT policies and Procedures.
- Experience with systems used within a gaming establishment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor`s degree in Business Administration.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and tribal laws, regulations, codes, ordinances, and requirements.
- Knowledge of modern tribal court practices, judicial procedure, and rules of evidence regarding investigative procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge and compliance with the US Treasury Secrecy Act.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including Windows programs.
- Skill in analyzing difficult, complex and controversial cases to determine scope of investigation.
- Skill in writing reports and correspondence.
- Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
- Skill in reviewing and analyzing operation reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
