Shift: Monday - Thursday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
Job Summary:
The House Manager is responsible for oversight, coordination, care and safety for residents throughout their stay in the Family Caring Center.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer, screen and respond to incoming calls for the Family Caring Center in a courteous manner.
- Complete intake screening and assessment of potential residents in the absence of the Social Worker. Admit new residents, review program rules, completion and documentation of program intake and admission forms.
- Document and secure all Family Caring Center resident money for savings, Bridge Housing and medications. Document when the resident was given self-administer medication.
Alert overnight security of any overnight emergencies and document same. Participate in any needed assistance in handling emergencies ie calling 911 and or evacuate residents if needed.
- Assist in the coordination of residents’ daily program activities, monitor resident behavior. Work with the Social Workers to insure resident involvement in, and adherence to, and progression towards resident self-sufficiency. Document resident and program activities throughout shift.
- Complete case documentation, statistical information, and daily program forms as required for reporting.
- Log all activities on computer and log book as required.
Additional responsibilities:
- Familiarity with and adherence to the Family Caring Center policy and procedure manual.
- Set breakfast daily for residents and children leaving the shelter early.
- Prepare school closing notices or late openings and post for parents.
- The above duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be modified to include other job-related duties at the discretion of the supervisor.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with the homeless individuals and families, familiarity with alcohol and other drug and mental health issues, and Act 33 &34 clearance.
- Must be able to bend, sit, stand, squat and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Requirement:
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army’s KeepSAfe training required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in Human Services delivery system.
