Position Summary:
The Day Camp Lead will assist the Program Supervisor in administrative and leadership responsibilities, while assisting in the overall implementation and coordination of the day camp program.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily administrative tasks and responsibilities including:
- Day camp registration and payments
- Create and disperse camp rosters
- RMS (Registration Management System) imports and exports
- CampDocs database inputs and updates
- Check-in and check-out assistance
- Create and send out camper newsletters and emails to camper families
- Assist with overall camp leadership
- Follow and ensure adherence to Day Camp Policies and Procedures
- Take leadership on field trips when the Program Supervisor is not present
- Handling of all discipline procedures when Program Supervisor is not present
- Bus/van supervision on field trips.
- Assist with camper care
- Serve as a positive role model to young children and Kroc Camp Staff by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct
- Give direct supervision to a group of children if a day camp counselor is not available
- Making the safety and well-being of all campers while in our care a top priority
- Encourage participation in all activities
- Ensure overall camp safety
- Respond to and report any forms of camper misconduct (bullying, inappropriate behavior, etc.) to the Program Supervisor.
- Adhere to and enforce Safe from Harm policies reporting any violations to the Program Supervisor
- Administer emergency first aid as needed, document emergency situations using incident reports, and inform the Program Supervisor as needed.
- Program assistance
- Plan, implement & clean-up bible lessons, group devotions and other related activities in correspondence with the weekly camp theme as directed by the Program Supervisor.
- Facilitate all camp activities including daily opening and closing ceremonies, praise and worship, and end of week award ceremonies.
- Prepare and distribute all weekly programming materials.
- Plan, book and drive TSA vehicle for field trips, as assigned.
- Daily and weekly cleanup of program materials.
- Work in a cooperative manner with the other day camp staff as well as other Kroc Center staff to execute daily plans and activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend required orientation including successful completion of First Aid/CPR and Safe From Harm training PRIOR TO WORKING WITH CAMPERS
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- 1-year prior experience in working with children.
- 1-year prior experience in leadership or management role preferred.
- 2 years of college education in related field preferred.
