Location: The Salvation Army, Lakeland, Florida Position Type: Regular Part-Time Pay Range: $15.00 – $17.00/ Hour About this opportunity: This position assists, instructs, and evaluates children in the academic areas in which they are weak so they may better understand and perform the skills; confers directly with the student’s teacher and parents regarding students progress; conducts individual and group tutoring sessions with students; prepares various reports documenting the student's progress and shares the same with parents. Key responsibilities: Utilizes educational tools (flash-cards, charts, educational games, work-sheets, textbooks, etc) in order to explain, teach and/or review educational skills according to the needs of the students. Plans and prepares curriculum for each child for each tutoring session. Prepares and provides bi-weekly, mid-term, and a final report of each student for parents; prepares and provides an end-of-the-month report of the tutoring program. What we are looking for in you: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, or a related field AND One year experience teaching school aged children basic academics, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
