Position Title : Theatrical Technical Designer
Summary of Position :
Technical Designers work with the TSR design team to design and engineer projects for conceptual design and fabrication. Other duties include maintaining and monitoring Draftsman and Technical Designer’s schedules, supervising technical training for all Draftsman / Technical Designers, supervising and consulting throughout the fabrication process, and coordinating project logistics with Creative Directors / Project Managers / Shop Foreman to facilitate workflow.
Description of Duties, Including but Not Limited to :
- Technical design / engineering of scenic elements and special effects
- CAD drafting of design elements and construction details
- Supervision and management of project fabrication
- Collaborating with other technical designers, project design teams and project managers to ensure end product complies with client’s vision and needs
- Maintaining and staying on schedules
