What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director, Human Resources position at The School District of Lee County?
The Executive Director, Human Resources will provide leadership, strategic planning, policy development, and administrative oversight of Human Resources programs for the District. This role will design and deliver programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees across the organization that are in alignment with strategic goals and objectives of the District.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- Eight years of progressively responsible and effective work experience in human resources.
- Valid Florida driver’s license
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience successfully managing multiple Human Resource functions and staff within a large organization at an executive level.
- Industry certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or PHR.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement goals and strategies for all functional areas of Human Resources in support of divisional goals and the District’s strategic plan.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team on key organizational and management issues.
- Lead a team of human resources professionals, providing guidance, coaching and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Lead organizational change initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the budgets within HR to ensure proper allocation of resources, both human and capital, to achieve the goals and objectives of the division.
- Ensure the development of procedures and processes related to compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies, and collective bargaining agreements are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk by ensuring human resources practices minimize organizational liability.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide senior leadership decision making.
