The for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $28.10 - 35.75 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
We are looking for a Maintenance MRO Buyer who will join our team in Ft. Madison IA.
- Purchase and receive equipment, supplies, materials, and services in accordance with purchasing regulations and procedures.
- Create, analyze, review, and maintain purchase requisitions. This will require generating reports in CMMS, SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Cultivate external sources of supplies, materials, equipment and services. Communicate successful options to the Maintenance Supervisor & Technical Manager.
- Develop bid specifications, issue bid requests, and analyze quotes in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor & Technical Manager per company guidelines.
- Once approved in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor & Technical Manager communicate successful job bids to vendors and coordinate logistics.
- Coordinates purchasing activities with the operations, engineering, and Maintenance departments in a professional manner.
- Arrange payments of invoices or return of merchandise.
- Provides timely disposition of non-conforming materials and maintains supplier performance measurements based on quality products, deliveries, and services.
- Monitor material usage in SAP and communicate with department leaders on availability in order to meet daily production. Mine for data and trends to report to plant leadership.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Expedites operations to ensure schedules are maintained.
- Maintain a Fork Truck license to expedite the loading/unloading of vendors.
- Take ownership and maintain an orderly, clean, and safe Storeroom. Requirements will be driven from the Professional Maintenance Pillar.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication and relationships with vendors, leadership, and associates within and outside the facility.
- Must have a working knowledge of parts and parts storage best practices.
- Must be able to reconcile physical inventory in SAP and correct any discrepancies.
- Must work closely with finance to maintain budgets and communicate with plant and department leadership.
- Identifying cost savings opportunities
- Must maintain a valid drivers license.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Organize and maintain the Technical Equipment Manual library
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as business needs are defined.
- Ability to work overtime as assigned to support plant needs
What you will need to be successful:
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an MRO buyer / storeroom clerk in a manufacturing environment
- Strong Professional written and verbal communication skills. This includes email and inter departmental communication.
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of technical products and process knowledge.
- Proficiency in Windows, SAP, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Tools and MFGPro.
- Must have effective planning, organizational, decision making skills and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. Must be able to communicate plans and decisions to leadership.
- Experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement efforts
- Must be able to adapt in a highly changing environment and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Must manage time effectively, have the ability to be self directed and have a high standard of organization skills.
