We are looking for an organized, experienced and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Processing Supervisor over our blending and grinding department. The Processing Supervisor is a working, hands-on supervisor position. They will be responsible for employees on multiple production lines on an assigned shift. Individuals in this position should be able to manage all the spice processing in a smooth manner. This position is also responsible for process improvements, maintaining schedules, following GMP’s, department quality and sanitation, department personnel and improving the processes in the department.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule, assign and oversee the accurate and timely completion of processing jobs and personnel
- Review and complete of all daily work documentation to ensure it is correct, complete and translated into electronic inventory
- Input and track daily goals and KPIs and send out daily reports to the Operations leadership team
- Oversee the daily set up, tear down, stocking, cleanliness, and general organization of the processing and filling rooms and ability to set up and run all equipment including but not limited to paddle mixers, grinders, sifters, All Fills, label machines, sealing machines and code daters.
- Develop and train processing team members to successfully operate all processing equipment and follow SOPs
- Ensures quality and consistency of all product in use (both raw and finished product) and communicates any possible discrepancy to management
- Ensure all quality checks are properly performed at required intervals
- Communicates with management when any inventory used in processing is running low and ensures proper accounting of manufacturing orders (inventory)
- Informs management of necessary maintenance/repair needed to complete tasks
- Explores and implements standard operation procedures and process improvements in line with operational guidelines
- Ensure the processing department employees are performing job duties as assigned and professionally resolve interpersonal conflicts on the production floor by following established Spice House guidelines and procedures
- Effectively communicate Spice House ideals, goals and principles to all team members across assigned shifts
- Follow and enforce all Spice House general work rules, policies and procedures, GMP and quality requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in food manufacturing
- Proficient with computers and other standard office technology
- The Processing Supervisor should possess excellent leadership skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 pounds and sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl repeatedly
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be fluent in English (read, write, speak)
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus
Reports To: Production Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is an exempt, full time position. This is a hands-on working supervisor position. Standard work days are Monday through Friday. Regular shift hours are Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm All employees in this position must be on the floor minimum 15 minutes before their shift starts and 15 minutes after the shift ends. When overtime is required, employees in this position are expected to work the required hours as it is a salaried exempt role.
