What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at The Spoke & Bird - All Locations?
We are a WBE owned and operated, farm-to-table food hospitality group that prides itself on crafting dishes with local flair through partnerships with regional farmers and vendors. Our Manager leads daily operations of the restaurant and is responsible for overseeing and managing all Front of the House and Back of House operations, including hospitality, staff management and physical restaurant maintenance.
Base salary is in the 60-90K range based on your experience and more so previous accomplishments and the skills you're bringing. A bonus program is in place that has the potential to pay out up to an additional 25% of base salary. Options/equity along with liberal time off are on the table.
You would be responsible for all aspects of the service programs, ensuring that they are executed to our high standards. Above all they must actively embody, inspire and teach our culture to all employees.
Job duties:
Staff Scheduling
- Create and manage staff schedules to align with labor percentage and net revenue goals
- Adjust schedules as needed for time off requests, availability changes, and call offs.
Hiring & Onboarding
- Interview and hire new teammates. Be present and involved in phone screenings and stages
- Oversee the training and onboarding of new hires to ensure they understand policies and expectations
Daily Operations
- Oversee all Cafe operations
- Provide direction and guidance to Kitchen Manager, FOH Manager, and Leads
- Provide positive and redirecting feedback to teammates when appropriate
- Be able to step into service when issues arise with equipment, customers, or teammates
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Ensure all areas of the restaurant stay clean and organized and adhere to safety and health inspection standards
- Make sure equipment is working properly by using preventative maintenance and handle any necessary repairs with the appropriate vendors
Inventory & Ordering
- Oversee weekly inventory and ordering for all product
- Work with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing
Events & Catering
- Respond promptly to event and catering inquiries
- Be able to provide quotes based on rental, staffing, service and food & bev fees
