Position Overview
The Chief People Officer (CPO) is a key executive leader responsible for shaping and executing the overall people strategy for the organization. The CPO will be instrumental in creating a compelling vision for the People team and leading all aspects of human resources including talent management, employee engagement, leadership development, total rewards and people operations. As the organization continues to grow, the CPO will also be instrumental in supporting change management and organizational development initiatives. The CPO will collaborate closely with the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team as well as Community Leaders to support and execute our purpose, mission and plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive and values-aligned people strategy that advances The Springs’ mission and business goals.
- Work in partnership with employees at all levels to cultivate a people-first culture that innovates the way people think, feel and experience working in senior living.
- Oversee the HR service model that supports the Home Office as well as 20 communities throughout Oregon, Washington, and Montana.
- Champion HR initiatives that leverage best practices across systems, policies, and programs; advise the leadership team on where The Springs can grow and continuously improve.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive organizational change efforts and scalability, ensuring the organizational structure and design support growth plans.
- Create talent strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while enhancing professional growth and leadership opportunities.
- Design strategic compensation programs that are competitive, equitable and business-aligned.
- Design performance management programs that drive accountability and promote continuous learning and development.
- Oversee training and development strategies that help cultivate a growth mindset, build key competencies and provide career pathways for employees.
- Lead the optimization and utilization of HR technology platforms, including the HRIS system and applicant tracking system, ensuring a successful and efficient structure is in place.
- Continuously seek opportunities to evolve the way we support our valued team members, serving as a champion of our quest to be the employer of choice in each market where we serve residents.
- Conduct a continuing study of policies and practices to keep the executive leadership team informed of new developments while also remaining compliant with standards and regulations in each state where we operate.
- Supervise the Director, Human Resources and Director, Training & Development; lead, mentor and foster the continuous development of the People team.
