WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct safety orientation and safety training, and attend pre-task analysis meetings.
- Complete job site-specific safety plans and perform regular safety audits.
- Manage and update training records using a training tracking software program.
- Conduct accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and manage injury cases as needed.
- Participate in project planning meetings with construction supervision.
- Communicate safety trends and identify opportunities for improvement with management, field supervision, customers, and employees.
- Actively participate as a member of the professional safety team, helping to establish best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide timely responses to workers’ safety concerns.
- Complete site inspections and work with operations to ensure any identified risks are mitigated.
- Perform additional duties as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 5 years of experience in a construction safety role.
- A bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- CHST and OSHA 500 certifications are preferred.
- This position must demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety policies and regulations.
- Ability to train efficiently and communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, strong time management, and organizational skills.
- Must be adaptable and willing to travel occasionally.
- Ability to professionally handle a fast-paced change-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and Word and EHS Platform navigation.
- Preferred experience in construction or union environments with a fluctuating volume of projects and activity.
