$16.50 Hourly


Position Summary

This position is responsible for moving property of APD and assisting with general administrative tasks for the Director of Administrative Services and Facilities.


The Work You Will Do

  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming and outgoing interdepartmental mail.
  • Picks up and delivers furniture, equipment, and office supplies (manual loading work at departure and destination is required) Moving furniture and equipment from one location to another Minor repair, uninstall and/or installation of office furniture and equipment. Assists with hanging whiteboards, pictures, and other office items as requested.

  • Maintains Agency motor vehicles. Adheres to all safety procedures when operating state vehicles, ensures vehicle preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner, ensures vehicles are clean after each use, ensures vehicle log is completed timely and accurately.

  • Assists General Services team where needed.
  • Provide minor administrative work as assigned (tracking information via spreadsheets, copying documents, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation.
  • Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • General office procedures and etiquette.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work independently.

Demonstrate Skills in:

  • Time management and organization.

Direct Deposit Program

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and


loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.


Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

Pursuant to S. 110.1127(1), Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
