Machine Operator Opportunity at Ditch Witch
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team on various shifts. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating one or more production machines, including lathes, mills, drills, saws, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment while monitoring its performance and following proper sequence.
- Assemble components and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers.
- Use a computer to check the location, inventory, and routing of parts and maintain production records.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including understanding written instructions and maintaining production records.
- Experience or training in welding, machining, mechanical repair, or metal working machinery operation is beneficial.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant conditions, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt.
- Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.
- Working with hazardous materials, such as coolant, solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.
