The Pine Knoll Shores Fire Department is seeking a motivated leader to serve as our next Fire/EMS Chief. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a dynamic and dedicated team while making a meaningful impact on the safety and well-being of our community.
Position Overview
The Fire/EMS Chief is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, and management of the Fire/EMS department. This role requires strong commitment to public safety, effective communication and active community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
*Oversee daily operations, including fire suppression, EMS services, training, and emergency management.
*Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and budgets to ensure department efficiency and readiness.
*Actively engage with the community to build strong relationships and promote fire safety education.
*Serve as the department’s public face, communicating effectively with the public, media, and local government officials.
*Lead a team of professionals by fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
*Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Proven ability to develop and sustain effective community outreach programs
*Knowledge of modern firefighting techniques, EMS practices, and incident management systems
*NC or NREMT Paramedic
*NC Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator/Pump & Aerials, Fire Officer I & II
*Ability to pass a NC Fire Brigade Medical Examination
*Willingness to cover shift shortages
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including health insurance, retirement contributions, and professional development. Fire/EMS Chief Salary Range $95,487-$136,410
