- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive storm response plan that ensures the safety of our employees and the timely restoration of power to our customers following severe weather events.
- Oversee all pre-storm preparedness activities, including securing resources, equipment, and personnel.
- Lead the storm response effort during outages, including:
- Situation assessment and damage evaluation.
- Resource allocation and deployment of crews.
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, government agencies, and media.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze storm data and post-event performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Work collaboratively with other departments across the organization, including engineering, operations, customer service, and public relations.
- Manage a team of storm response professionals, defining and implementing an ongoing training and career development program, including performance assessments for assigned High Voltage Storm Division and High Voltage Training Team.
- Ensure the safety of all team members during storm response operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and contractors for storm restoration support.
- Evaluate, plan, and coordinate vehicle, tool, and equipment upgrades, replacements, and new purchases.
- Develop and implement documented processes and procedures across the High Voltage Storm Division team.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and inspection filings are completed.
- Ensure project schedules meet the timelines for response to storm events for Tri-M and its customers.
- Assist personnel with on-site problems when necessary.
- Prepare project status reports and/or schedules, if applicable.
- Provides input to the Operations team as it relates to P&L/forecasting.
- Assists in general business development activities.
Skills/Education
- Bachelor's or advanced specialized degree
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electric utility operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role related to storm response.
- Proven experience in high voltage storm management or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing emergency response plans.
- Strong understanding of electric utility infrastructure and restoration procedures.
- Knowledge or working relationship with Exelon, PECO, Delmarva, PEPCO, BG&E, Co-Ops or other Northeast utilities a plus.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in crisis communication and public relations is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Technical knowledge of electrical systems and the NEC a plus.
- Ability to operate a laptop and/or tablet is a must.
- Proficient computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and work under pressure in fast paced environments.
- Excellent verbal, written and human relations skills.

- Ability to read, understand and effectively apply construction drawings, specifications and electrical schematics.

- Ability to travel to jobsites and storm events nationally, including overnight, as needed.
- Valid passenger driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle. Reliable means of transportation is required.

- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.

- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection.
