We have an immediate need for a Facilities Manager to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a full-time role, reporting to the Regional Manager.

Highlights of this position’s responsibilities include:

  • Full job description will be available during the interview process
General:
  • Assesses and prioritizes all work to be performed on assigned site to include maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, and work materials and establishes and completes daily work schedules for maintenance duties and ensures quality of work duties performed
  • Notifies Property Manager of all problems and potential issues of concern and maintains working knowledge of all utility sources and supply lines
  • Works collaboratively with the Property Manager with the scheduling and status of units under renovation

Site Operations:

  • Oversees integrated facility services which include managing, maintenance, custodial services and contracted service contracts.
  • Acts as primary liaison with all customer departments, actively ensuring that service is prompt, responsive, effective and that inter- departmental concerns are addressed and resolved for service activities
  • Performs daily walk through of the site to ensure that the property, infrastructure and its associated equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Communication:

  • Responsible for working with all facilities / maintenance staff at the site level and throughout the organization; seeks information to increase knowledge and best practices
  • Oversight includes: hiring, training/coaching, discipline, motivation, setting goals, and providing 1:1 guidance to ensure each employee reaches highest potential
  • Be directly involved in weekly communication with Property Manager regarding all maintenance related items

Pure Safety:

  • Ensures employees Safety Training through Grace Hill as assigned and within the established “complete by dates" for newly hired employees, as well as on-going training for the maintenance team - ensures safety initiatives are followed
  • Ensures safety meetings are held with all maintenance staff members, in addition to property staff members when appropriate, to review safety topics specific to monthly established training and may include relevant topics that are important to your Site
  • Walks property on a regular and continual basis to ensure preventative maintenance and reporting to ensure our properties and facilities not only look their best, but are maintained properly to ensure a safe environment for all
Job Overview Qualifications
  • Job Type Compensation: Facilities Manager; $36.06/hour
  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday
  • Required Education: Minimum High School Education or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years full time maintenance experience; managerial experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, management, and teamwork skills
  • Professional image compatible with United Group - positive attitude, energetic, assertive, and ability to serve as a role model for subordinates
  • Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level
  • Willingness to perform all assigned tasks with good work and safety habits
  • Willingness to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to solve problems involving residents, personnel, emergency situations, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and heating systems
