What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutor Counselor Senior position at The University of Akron?
Essential Functions :
- Monitor high school program participants in residence halls and on campus.
- Assist with academic as well as recreational and cultural activities on and off campus.
- May require overnight shift.
Physical Requirements :
Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking, standing, etc. May occasionally lift very lightweight objects.
Working Conditions :
Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise, crowded working conditions and / or minor heating / cooling or ventilation problems. Near continuous use (>
70% of the time) of a video display terminal.
Additional Position Information :
Education and Experience :
A minimum of 32 postsecondary hours with a 2.5 minimum GPA.
Experience with first-generation low-income students preferred.
Compensation : Commensurate with experience.
