Job Summary:
The position ensures effective management of the Post-Award Accounting office and has oversight of post-award projects. Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations within the post-award accounting operation. Oversees educational and training programs for staff and research administrators. Oversees the annual single audit, the financial statement audit firm, and program audits.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business. Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or healthcare administration preferred.
Five (5) years of experience in a post-award accounting office at a research-intensive university with three (3) of those years in a managerial capacity. Experience working with external auditors to conduct single audits, as well as with extramural sponsors conducting fiscal compliance audits of programs.
Experience reading and interpreting sponsored grant and contract agreements. Extensive experience with 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), and the DHHS Policy Statement. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Proficient with Excel. Comfortable learning new enterprise resource management (ERP) software. Experience with Workday, Cayuse.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the integrity of data input into Workday. Read and interpret sponsored award agreements and translate compliance, financial, reporting, and deliverables data elements into the post-award module of Workday.
- Guide the set-up process by supervising an accountant II position who will be primarily responsible for entering data elements into the post-award module of Workday. This includes new award set-up, modifications, continuations, budget revisions, other revisions, etc.
- Coordinate and deliver fiscal compliance training sessions, assist with the annual single audit and other desk or fiscal reviews of programs conducted by sponsoring agencies, and coordinate effort reporting process via Workday.
- Coordinate the fiscal compliance of campus recharge centers and the clinical trial invoicing and payment application process.
