Job Description
UT Promise is a student success program that places service and mentorship as the core tenets of an engaged undergraduate student experience. The inaugural UT Promise Program Manager will lead the program's mission and play a central role in shaping the strategic direction to scale this program's efforts. This position will oversee academic and career integration interventions as well as community engagement and mentorship offerings for the UT Promise cohort. This work involves frequent collaboration with the Academic Success Center and the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration to ensure seamless student support services and is intended to have a direct impact on university-wide efforts to enhance retention, progression, and graduation rates. A commitment to data-informed decision making will be crucial in working proactively to facilitate positive student outcomes. Evening and weekend work is required for events and programming.
Responsibilities
Program Development & Strategy :
- Work with Associate Vice-Provost for Student Success to establish program goals and outcomes in alignment with divisional & University priorities.
- Develop and implement programs that facilitate success and wellbeing for male-identifying, low SES, first-generation, and / or rural students attending UTK.
- Oversee communication and marketing strategies for the entire program, including prospective and continuing student needs as well as social media presence.
- Monitor student progress and program outcomes to provide regular status reports to DSS leadership.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in the field of student success and pivot functions to meet those trends.

Required Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to build consensus with external partners, deliver presentations, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Strong analytical skills and experience in using data to inform decision-making and assess program effectiveness; Demonstrated success in establishing and deepening partnerships with key campus, high school, and community-based organizations and community stakeholders; Experience designing and / or executing events for an academic, social, or career mentorship program, such as SSS, GearUP, Skills USA, or Big Brothers / Big Sisters; Experience designing and / or executing service-learning programs.
