JOB SUMMARY :
The Director of Accounting oversees the accounting and tax departments, ensuring compliance while maintaining efficient accounting operations. This position will lead all core accounting functions including AR, tax, payroll, AP, and treasury; as well as oversight over corporate accounting. The Director position works closely with the Director of FP&A, CFO and other executive leaders within the organization.
EDUCATION :
Required : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Preferred : CPA
EXPERIENCE :
Required : 8-10 years of progressive accounting, tax and / or finance experience.
Preferred : 5 years of management experience in the accounting and / or finance field.
POSITION REQUIREMENT(S) : Specialized Skills / License / Certification
Required : Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills. Experienced with Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Ability to multitask.
CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)
1) Direct, lead and supervise all accounting activities and teams as it relates to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and tax functions, and accounting.
2) Manage alignment between the Company's financial goals and business strategies.
3) Partner and support the CFO and executive teams with special projects, such as system implementations, audits, process improvement initiatives, and M&A activity.
4) Oversee models that monitor key variables, including budgeting and cash forecasting.
5) A financial resource to the Divisional Vice Presidents to ensure understanding of results, improve financial literacy, understand bonus / commission metrics, and facilitate data-driven solutions.
6) Manage risk for the company, including evaluation and management of insurance and legal workstreams and related reserves.
7) Hire, train, and develop a skilled accounting team.
8) Oversee annual audit program, including evaluation and implementation of key internal controls.
9) Other duties as assigned.
