Job Description:
As a Steward at Hickory, you will play a crucial role in supporting the restaurant's operations by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas. With at least 6 months of dishwashing experience, you will ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen and contribute to the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment and manual cleaning methods to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Sort and organize clean dishes and utensils, storing them in designated areas for easy access by kitchen and service staff.
- Empty trash bins and recycling containers, disposing of waste properly and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, stovetops, and equipment, using approved cleaning agents and procedures.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations and service areas, including restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to support the efficient flow of operations and ensure timely service to guests.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of dishwashing experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
