SUMMARY
Summer Fellows participate in every aspect of boarding school life over the course of Webb’s dynamic three-week summer program. Job responsibilities will vary according to each fellow’s interests and expertise along with program needs but will be focused on the educational and extracurricular lives of our summer program students (rising 7th – 9th graders). The job will include a combination of teaching, planning and overseeing afternoon and evening activities, supervising in the dormitories, and chaperoning field trips. The position is immersive, designed to introduce fellows to the many aspects of teaching and working in boarding school faculty positions and to provide them with mentorship and support as they explore careers in education.

RELATIONSHIPS
Summer Fellows will work closely with our Summer Program students. They will report to the Director of Experiential Learning and must work closely with the Dean of Students, summer faculty and staff to help create a positive and safe environment for learning and discovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- The program runs from July 5 – July 29, with faculty and staff training July 5 – 7 and students arriving July 8 for a program that concludes for students on July 28 and for staff on July 29.
- Instruction and supervision in our paleontology, global ethics, digital arts, medical science and/or science & engineering courses.
- Planning and supervising afternoon and/or evening activities. Activities may include athletic programs, newspaper, drama, outdoor activities, arts, team building and more.
- Supervising and living in dormitories (fellows are expected to reside in the dormitories for the duration of the program), overseeing dorm residents, building community and working with the Director of Experiential Learning, Assistant Director, and Assistant Dean to ensure student health and safety.
- Chaperoning off-campus field trips.
- Driving for off-campus field trips when eligible.
- Promoting the development of honor, character, and leadership in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Housing in Webb dorms and meals (when the dining hall is open) will be provided in addition to wages earned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Summer Fellows have no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least two years of college preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
A current driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record will be required. A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.

COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY
Anticipated salary range: $16.50 - $17.00/Hour. Salary will be dependent on the level of experience. The Webb Schools offer competitive compensation. In setting position ranges, Webb reviews numerous factors including industry data from NAIS, CAIS, NBOA, and other market data.
