Front of House Manager Job Summary
The Wharf Restaurant Group (Ginny Lane Bar and Grill, Villaggio Grille, Yoho Rum and Tacos, and Mile Marker 158) is looking for a Front of House Manager to join our team for the 2025 Season! Having an individual join our team on a long term goal would be ideal! We are located at the Wharf in beautiful Orange Beach, AL. The wharf is home to concerts, car shows, boat shows, fireworks, large festivals and events. This large complex is an entertainment district and getting ready to grow across the waterway! The wharf restaurant group is located at the Wharf and the owners have 4 concepts here across the street from each other.
The candidate we are looking for would be highly interested in guest interaction, going above and beyond, growing the restaurants further with returning guest, managing and teaching a staff, being proactive, working with a team, and overall guest orientated.
In this position, you will hire and train servers, bussers, and hosts/hostesses, create shift schedules, and ensure that the front-of-house (FOH) runs smoothly. Training comes from the management and we believe in the training and teaching process as your job. You are ultimately responsible for customer satisfaction, so you must make sure your staff is providing excellent customer service. This is done by following through with the teaching we have in place to allow the staff to grow. You must also facilitate a smooth line of communication between the servers and the kitchen. Our ideal candidate has several years of experience working in restaurants, preferably with some time spent in a supervisory role. Able to work with Costs including, labor cost management, food and Bar Cost, forecasting sales projection, and monitoring overall functions. Other responsibilities include over seeing ordering for bar product, paper product, schedule making for all staff, keeping restaurant clean and organized, communicating clearly with co workers, remaining positive and being very organized.
The managers split the difference in making sure the schedule, training, ordering, and budgets get completed on a daily. In the front of house position part of your job is problem solving efficiently and meeting staffing requirements. Bar knowledge and menu understanding is required. Learning how to prevent the upcoming challenges is important in this position. This will allow to make the decisions that are best for the restaurant
Front of House Manager Duties and Responsibilities
-50 hours per week- we also have a PTO system set up based on an hourly
- Hire and train FOH staff-staff restaurant to the volume of business
