Middle School Librarian: Grades 6-8 Begins August 2025 The Wheeler School, a co-ed, N-12 independent day school with city and farm campuses serving approximately 800 students in the Greater Providence and Greater Boston areas, is seeking a Librarian to join our Middle School. Ideal candidates for faculty and staff positions at Wheeler are people with a sense of humor, warmth, and humility. We are looking for a middle school librarian to begin in August 2025. Responsibilities will include implementing a comprehensive information literacy program, collaborating with teachers to teach project-based research skills, working with division and department leadership to align existing library resources and practices with the curriculum, and developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive middle school print and online library collection. This position also teaches a digital and civic literacy course in the sixth grade. Successful candidates will possess a strong background as a middle school librarian, a deep commitment to the experience of the student, an interest in innovation, an ability to teach a range of learners, and strong collaborative skills. The position also involves serving as an advisor to sixth graders, collaborating with a team of teachers on extracurricular programming, and providing faculty support in a club or activity. As a teacher at Wheeler you will become part of a dynamic and passionate faculty and work with talented and engaged students every day. Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience required; master’s degree preferred.
