Social Media Community Manager
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Lead the management and promotion of Nalgene Outdoor’s brand presence on social media channels. Improve the reputation of both Nalgene Outdoor and Thermo Fisher Scientific by developing innovative social media strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Moderate Nalgene Outdoor accounts on platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
- Interact with post comments, tagged posts, and content using brand hashtags. Repin and share relevant content. Follow influencers and like-minded brands.
- Respond promptly to customer questions, reviews, direct messages, and service inquiries to maintain a vibrant community.
- Publish and share daily content (text, images, video) that builds connections and encourages community members to act.
- Problem-solve efficiently while building connections with customer service and marketing partners.
- Demonstrate empathy by actively listening to community needs and responding compassionately to foster positive relationships.
- Maintain standards and documentation for community management.
- Ensure compliance with policies and relevant legislation.
- Proofread and evaluate written content for typographical and brand errors. Collaborate with writers and editors to align content with standards.
- Lead status calls with partners on social statuses and reports.
- Cultivate and champion an engaged consumer audience to support dedication to the brand.
- Ensure adherence to corporate global brand standards across all channels.
- Assist in curating a content marketing plan and editorial calendar based on relevant topics and trends.
- Optimize work by using AI technologies and tools to improve efficiency and automate tasks.
- Align organic social content with campaign objectives.
- Present and work within a matrixed organization to further build our social presence.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in social marketing, specializing in content development, social media communications, corporate blogging, or related areas.
- 5 years experience in Marketing and/or Communications preferred
Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric focus.
- Ability to respond within 24-48 hours to customer and brand feedback.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while driving excellence in execution.
- Passion for companies that make a positive impact, with an understanding of the scientific and outdoor communities.
- Experience in cross-functional, complex organizations, collaborating with creative, research, measurement, and marketing teams.
- Stay updated with the latest trends to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with social media brand monitoring and analytics platforms such as Sprinklr.
- Confirmed expertise in analyzing, organizing, and presenting extensive datasets clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend support to monitor sentiment and address social crises.
- Strong attention to detail, maintaining consistency in social elements like inclusive imagery, voice, and tone.
- Adhere to OHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and balanced workplace environment.
